Well, here we go, post number one.
14 weeks until UK day and my itinerary for the first three weeks is set.
I fly out of Melbourne at 12:30pm on the 17th of May and land at Heathrow at 6:30am on the 18th of May.
I pick up the hire car at the airport and head to Swanley - I've booked a B and B for 4 nights and hope to spend the days catching up with the Kent cousins and scattering dad's ashes at St Giles in Farnborough.
Then on the 22nd I'm driving to the Lake District and spending 3 nights at High Park farm stay in Little Langdale where my plan is to chill out and do some walking as well as rediscovering Keswick and Ambleside where mum dad & I spent some wonderful holidays.
I leave Little Langdale on the 25th of May and head to Fort William, where I'll spend another 3 nights, my plan is to spend 1 day on the Isle of Mull and 1 day up Ben Nevis as well as exploring the Caledonian Canal.
On the 28th of May, I drive to Inverness for 2 nights, I plan to visit the ruins of Invergarry Keep on the way to Inverness as it was the ancestral home of the McDonnells of Glengarry the clan of which the Sandersons were a sept. Wazzy and I visited in 2016 when we were last home so it's a bit of a pilgrimage for me and I'll be taking things of Warren's with me.
On the 30th of May, I fly out of Inverness to Kirkwall on Orkney for 3 days and then fly to Lerwick on Shetland for 3 days, again the trip Wazzy and I had planned for 2020.
On the 5th of June, I fly to Glasgow and then back South to Gatwick, where I'll pick up another hire car and head to Somerset to Mick and Sue's.
I really can't wait to catch up with everyone in the UK but also to spend some reflection time on my own because I really do need to find out who I am for the next part of my life.
